Wrinkled
Pencil
Ok, so my title isn't that original for an Elephant drawing but I it's the first thing that I thought of and kept going back to. I spent a lot more time on drawing this one than the previous lion drawing mainly because of all the wrinkles. I don't think I ever realized how hard it was to draw an elephant. This was also hard to let go in drawing. I could go on forever trying to get detail here and there but like all drawings, there is a time to stop and set it aside for framing. So now I'm on with the next one....

Hi Melissa,
I just discovered your blog, and I love your work! I really enjoy graphite, pen and ink, and colored pencil so it is wonderful to see what you do. Such detail! Amazing. I do a lot of pen and ink and graphite for house portraits, pet portraits, and I'm working on some botanical subjects as well. It's fun to see what other artists do in those media as well. Have a great day!

Hi Carol -
Thanks for the comments. As you know, I too, love the amazing details I can create with pencils, coloured pencils and pen & ink. Keep checking back as I am starting to draw much larger drawings now.
